"Unbound as published. Printed on yellow paper. Saddle-stitched. 4 full-page photographic reproductions. With ownership inscription in blue ink. Catalogue of post-war surrealist exhibition held at Expo Aleby in Stockholm. Organised by Wilhelm Freddie and Gösta Kriland, assisted by Ilmar Laaban, the exhibition featured 62 works by the members of the Swedish painters' group Imaginisterna and other Nordic artists alongside prominent international names, including Max Ernst, Jean Arp, Victor Brauner and Yves Tanguy. The exhibition, Surrealistisk manifestation attempted to demonstrate the presence of surrealism in Sweden, and to align it with French surrealism's immersion in myth and magic. The present catalogue includes four black-and-white, full-page reproductions, the writings of Simon Watson Taylor, Steen Colding. Ilmar Laaban and Gunnar Hellman as well as as the complete list of 62 presented works.
